With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Jef has been a passionate advocate and leader in the fashion and textile industry. His extensive experience includes serving as the Director at sector association Modint, where he made significant contributions to the European trade policies, innovation programs, and sustainability initiatives. Jef has also been the Coordinator for the Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textiles (AGT) which was hosted by the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER), which is the main advisory body to the Dutch Government on Social and Economic Topics. The Dutch Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textile (AGT) ran until the 31st of December 2021. A broad coalition of businesses and other organisations worked together during the term of 5.5 years to improve working conditions, prevent pollution, and promote animal welfare in production countries. The AGT has extensive experience with implementing the due diligence expectations of the OECD Guidelines. His dedication to promoting responsible business conduct and his ability to bring diverse stakeholders together have been instrumental in driving positive change. Currently he works on the topic of live long development for the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER).
