
Esther Luiten is Board Member of the Global Shrimp Forum, the leading annual leadership event for the global shrimp industry. She serves as Global Director Programme Development at the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), the world’s foremost certification and labelling programme for responsibly farmed seafood.
At ASC, Esther drives a market-led strategy to advance the certification programme and spearheads innovative approaches that go beyond certification to accelerate sustainability across the sector. With a PhD in Environmental Innovation Studies, she previously held key positions at the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) and served as Deputy Director of the North Sea Foundation, a prominent Dutch environmental NGO.
Esther brings over 20 years of leadership in the international seafood sector and remains a passionate force for transformation, championing sustainability across global supply chains—for people and for the planet.
