Guillaume Smeets started his career in Provimi in 2007 with an internship in Nanning, China, during his Master of Animal Sciences (poultry nutrition) studies at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. In 2008, Guillaume started his professional career as a technical sales representative in the Middle East. After having several roles related to poultry nutrition and commercial responsibilities in the Middle East, Guillaume joined Cargill through the Provimi acquisition in 2011. Since then, Guillaume assumed commercial and regional leadership positions. In 2017, Guillaume was named Managing Director for Cargill Animal Nutrition’s business in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). In October 2019, he became the first global Commercial Excellence leader for the Animal Nutrition & Health enterprise within Cargill. Since March 2022 Guillaume leads the SMT organization.
