Blake is the Director of Sustainability for Thai Union North America, working alongside leaders in Europe and Asia to design and meet Thai Union’s ambitious goals laid out in SeaChange® 2030.
He’s been instrumental in shaping the Shrimp Decarbonization Initiative, a pioneering model of shrimp production that leverages innovative technologies and transparent financial models to reduce emissions within shrimp supply chains while remaining economically viable for all stakeholders. Working on behalf of Thai Union subsidiary, Chicken of the Sea Frozen Foods, his collaborative approach has helped unlock scalable opportunities with leading organizations like Ahold Delhaize USA and The Nature Conservancy.
Before joining Thai Union, Blake focused on building more equitable seafood supply chains through improved worker welfare and community development while at Fair Trade USA. He began his environmental career working on issues of climate change and regenerative agriculture at the Environmental Defense Fund, but his passion for addressing the planet’s urgent challenges started while teaching middle school students in Southeast Asia.
Blake holds a BA in Political Science from UCSB and a M.S. in Sustainability Management from American University.
