Lissy is CEO of Aqua-Spark, a global investment fund, active in 22 countries, building a portfolio of solutions across the aquaculture value chain with the aim to transform the industry into one that is healthier, more sustainable, and more accessible. Specifically, Aqua-Spark invests in companies and technologies focused on novel feed ingredients which can replace fishmeal, promoting fish health, finding alternatives for antibiotics, improving farm practices, reducing feed waste, data-collection for production optimisation, and platforms that increase transparency in the supply chain.
Lissy has over two decades of banking experience, primarily in food and agribusiness finance. At Rabobank, she set up the leveraged finance team in Asia and significantly grew the business in North America by working closely with investors to finance companies in the food and agricultural sector. After eight years working in Hong Kong, New York and London, Lissy returned to the Netherlands to lead the bank’s global lending business. Lissy joined Aqua-Spark in 2022 as CEO because she sees the opportunities offered by sustainable aquaculture to alleviate the burden of overfishing on our ocean, and the huge potential of capital to develop the perfect future food system.
