/ Fang, Qing

Fang Qing (方清) graduated from the Ocean University of China with a major in Marine Ecology and has been involved in Chinese fisheries and aquaculture since 2008.

Fang Qing previously worked at the China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance (CAPPMA), where he was responsible for coordinating the management of IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing trade between China and Europe. He later joined the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) China project team, focusing on capacity building for sustainable fisheries certification and promoting market engagement within the Chinese seafood industry.

In 2013, Fang Qing served as a consultant for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) China Office, supporting the sustainable seafood project through industrial mapping and policy analysis for the WWF China Marine Project.

In 2016, Fang Qing joined the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) China team, where he worked on promoting responsible aquaculture practices, training, and educating consumers about responsible seafood consumption in China. He continued this role until 2024.

Fang Qing's work in the seafood sector includes driving industry development, coordinating supply chain integration, conserving fishery resources, and supporting enterprises across the industry in finding better market opportunities and partners. Now, as an independent consultant, he is better positioned to contribute to global marine sustainable development.
